A WEEK OF YOGA IN PORTUGAL

28th September - 2nd October 2017

Join Jess Horn for a healing and rejuvenating retreat in a stunning location in Northern Portugal. As the summer slowly draws to an end come escape with us, enjoying 5 days of sunshine leaving you set for a wonderful Autumn. You will immerse yourself in nature taking time to nurture yourself on all levels – body, mind and spirit.


Jess will be your Yoga teacher, she’s an ISHTA yoga teacher – ISHTA means individual and this retreat will be all about you! Jess teaches in a way that allows you to honour and nurture your body. The yoga programme will be carefully designed to lead you deeper and deeper into your practice and is suitable for all levels of experience. Every morning we will practice a mindful Vinyasa Flow. These long and healing sessions will give us time to connect to ourselves in a way we just don’t get at home. They will be just the right balance between Effort and Surrender. Each session will incorporate Breathwork & Yoga Nidra or Meditation. Every afternoon a deeply restoring Yin/Restorative session. These slower sessions allow healing on a much deeper level and are the perfect antidote for those with busy lives and minds. Each session will incorporate Breathwork & Yoga Nidra or a Meditation.


We will take time to share, to walk in nature, enjoy massages, journal, work on our intentions combined with periods of silence and reflection.  With delicious food, company and sunshine you’ll return home feeling refreshed, invigorated and inspired.

THE VENUE


The retreat takes place in a private manor house which dates back to the 17th century with recent reconstruction bringing you all the comforts of modern contemporary life. This rural property is set in 16 acres of gorgeous, green and natural scenery.  The property includes comfortable en-suite bedrooms, indoor and outdoor swimming pools,tennis court and a lake. Recently, a pavilion was built near the swimming-pools and surrounded by gardens to provide a dedicated place for your daily yoga practice.
Location

The house is located in the oldest village of Portugal known for its exclusive production of Vinho Verde wine.  The house is situated 43 miles from Porto airport, 45 miles from the city of Porto, 12 miles to the beach, 3 miles to the village of Ponte de Lima and 35 miles to Parque Nacional Peneda-Geres.

FOOD

Our chef and team offer a creative and special Mediterranean cuisine using products of the highest quality with local, organic, seasonal fruit and vegetables. We serve:

  • Loose leaf and herbal teas, coffee, fruit before your morning yoga session
  • Brunch includes freshly squeezed juices, loose leaf teas, homemade muesli and granola, fresh fruit, seeds, nuts, yoghurts, dairy and plant based milks, free-range eggs, fresh breads and pastries, homemade cakes, hot specialities.
  • The kitchen is open again in the afternoon for you to help yourself to salads, fruit, fresh bread and homemade cakes.
  •  Evening buffet style meals are freshly and lovingly prepared offering a variety of plant based bowls of goodness for you to enjoy. All meals use seasonal, local or organic produce to provide delicious, nutritious and soulful food.
  • The chef can cater for all dietary needs.

YOUR TEACHER

Jess Horn is an advanced E-RYT 500hr, ISHTA Certified Teacher. She has been teaching for over 8 years and practicing for nearly 20. She was originally drawn to yoga for its physical benefits but continues to be fascinated by the many deeper layers yoga has to offer such as Eastern philosophy, Ayurveda, Breath work, Meditation, Mantra and Mudra.
Jess skilfully provides a space in her classes where everyone feels comfortable and can challenge themselves safely whether they are beginners or more experienced yogis. She hopes her classes encourage more awareness, so people can connect more mindfully with their bodies, each other and our environment. She teaches Mindful Vinyasa Flow with an emphasis on safe alignment,the breath and incorporating meditation. She also teaches Yin, Restorative and Pregnancy Pre-and Post in Hertfordshire, London and on Worldwide Retreats.
